Level Designer

3rd-person stealth action-adventure game set in Antwerp, Belgium, during the 80 Years' War. The game will be released on Steam in June 2024.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Designing and balancing enemy encounters with stealth and takedowns.
  • Sketching, grey-boxing, and set-dressing a level.
  • Prototyping level design ingredients with visual scripting.
  • Creating a modular kit based on real-life architecture of Antwerp city.
  • Ensuring quality with Conditions of Satisfaction, playtesting, and iterating on the level based on data.

Design Lead, Level & Narrative Designer

3rd-person narrative mystery game where the player uses a camera to see ghosts and solve puzzles.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Designed and implemented player onboarding.
  • Designed the main mission along with narrative beats for the level.
  • Took ownership over worldbuilding, dialogue script writing, and cinematics, and implemented these in engine.
  • Ensured quality by playtesting and iterating on the onboarding and the narrative of the game based on playtesting data.
  • Managed the design team’s processes and communication with other departments as the design lead of the team.

Level Designer

A small open-world level made in Divinity Engine 2 as a mod for the RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Designed a small open-world roleplaying game level with multiple paths and approaches.
  • Designed the narrative and implemented NPC dialogue and items.
  • Designed and implemented a puzzle and a combat encounter. 
  • 3D sculpted the landscape and set-dressed the level.
  • Researched the reference game to create a narrative and a level that fits the game.

Level Designer

An FPS Quake level with combat, environmental hazards, and puzzles, made in Trenchbroom.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implemented enemy encounters, environmental challenges, scripted events, and puzzles.
  • Sketched, grey-boxed, set-dressed, and added lighting to the level.
  • Researched the Quake player experience, metrics, level flow, and design principles to recreate it.
  • Created a modular kit based on real-life architecture of castles and sewage systems.
  • Ensured quality with Conditions of Satisfaction, playtesting, and iterating on the level based on playtesting data.

A twinstick shooter based on the 80s game Paradroid.

  • Designed the enemy abilities, enemy encounters, and the enemy-catching minigame.
  • Sketched, grey-boxed, and collaborated with environment artists to set-dress the first level.
  • Ensured quality by playtesting and iterating based on playtesting data.
  • Researched the reference game to create a new game concept based on it and the constraints given by the teachers.
